When using LEDES billing, a unique Client ID is required on each invoice. To your customer receiving this invoice, that Client ID uniquely identifies your account. TimeSolv has always used the Client ID field from the Client/General tab to populate this field on the LEDES invoice.
Some of our customers have found themselves in a situation where they want to maintain multiple client records in TimeSolv for the same customer (for example, a law firm working with a large insurance company with multiple divisions). This posed a problem in LEDES in that each TimeSolv client created for the same customer was then sending a different Client ID.
We’ve now enhanced Timesolv to add an optional LEDES Client ID field on the Client/General tab. For those clients where you have LEDES billing enabled, you can now specify your own LEDES Client ID, which can be the same across multiple clients. If you don’t need this functionality, just leave the new LEDES Client ID field blank and we will continue to use the current Client ID field.
We are dedicated to meeting your needs. Thanks for all your input.

Web Based Time Tracking Solutions
Web based time tracking solutions are the best new age solutions for streamlining organizational processes especially those related to time tracking for billing. Most web based time tracking software’s are available with basic time collection features and various reporting functionalities. The main functionalities of a time tracking software solution includes time tracking and reporting, project as well as task management, and user schedule.
The salient point of using web based time tracking solutions is that you can get summarized and detailed reports on the following:
• Time expenses created based on billable as well as non-billable tasks
• Time expenses created depending on the type of billing
• Tracking the total time spent by each of the employees
• Tracking the total time spent on each of the clients
• A summary of daily overtime as reported by any of the users
Billing reports in web based time tracking solutions can be created based on day/month, set of completed tasks, clients, and even employees. Reports can be created for billable as well as non-billable tasks and will be different for different customers. The reports can also vary depending on the type of projects or tasks. A top of the line web based time tracking software will be able to filter the non-billable tasks within billing reports and ensure that they are not included into the actual invoice data export. The software solution for time tracking can also help in assigning billing type to each of the billable tasks. Using the software, you can customize the type of billing in accordance to your current accounting system.
Another important aspect of the web based time tracking solutions is that it can help you to calculate overtime as well as under-time and also create reports based on facts. Most often than not the value of overtime or under-time is calculated based user wise and it totals as the difference between what you report as time expense for a particular day and the duration of a workday specified for the user in question. Normally negative values are considered as under-time. This value determines the fact that a particular user has reported less time expense vis-à-vis actual time expenses. On the other hand, positive values are considered as overtime. This basically means that a user has reported more time expenses vis-à-vis what the user was supposed to deliver on a particular day.
Web based time tracking solutions can provide a simple and clear way for their users when it comes to calculating overtime or under-time values and collect these values to enhance analysis and future reporting. Some of the top time tracking solutions not only offer time tracking and billing but also help in optimizing overall team or organizational productivity. Basically, when you are tracking time and billed hours of each employee then you will be able to identify the employees whose billable hours are higher or lower. Accordingly, you can define parameters so that each employee gives as many billable hours required or more. This will help in streamlining organizational process.

Improved Personal Project/Matter List Selection
TimeSolv has had a feature for timekeepers to create their favorite list of clients and projects/matters called the Personal Project/Matter List for entering time and expenses. The ability to create Personal Project/Matter is enabled by the administrator under Firm Settings by checking Allow Personal Matter List, see screenshot below.
Allow Personal Matter List
Check the box in order to reduce the Number of Clients and Matters that appear in Time and Expense entry pulldown lists. Client and Matter names will be chosen from the latest Time and Expense entries. Uncheck the box to disable this feature and show all active Clients and Matters.
Once enabled, timekeepers can setup the personal projects/matters list by clicking on the link Setup Personal Project/Matter on time and expense entry screens.
The user interface for adding or removing projects/matters from the personal list has been improved to allow users to see all projects/matters on one screen. Now you will be able to select projects/matters by clicking on check boxes.
Benefit: Users will be able to more easily select/deselect favorite matters/projects for entering time and expenses. This feature will reduce time spent on entering time and expenses because the desired project/matter will be selected from a list of favorites.
· Improved Recurring Expense Entry
Recurring expense entry link will only be visible if an entry is entered as a recurring entry. Previously, if the recurring expense entry option was enabled, it showed recurrence option for all expense entries.
We are dedicated at meeting your needs. Thanks for all your inputs.

Timesheet and Time Tracking Software
Are you getting into the habit of keeping paper based attendance records for your employees? Does your law firm manually tally time sheets each month? Is your firm struggling with the complex regulations related to payroll and overtime? Things have changed and now you can do a lot of things using a timesheet and time tracking software. In fact, you can now keep track of all your billable hours, project costs, and project time among others. This is all been made possible due to the availability, flexibility, and accessibility of a timesheet and time tracking software.
There are several features that you can take advantage of in a timesheet and time tracking software. One of the best features of a timesheet and time tracking software is that you will be able to derive thorough time tracking using one of the most intuitive interfaces. The interface is user friendly and this makes time entry easy to do. In fact, you can even enter the time using internet from just about anywhere and any point. If you are traveling from San Francisco to Barcelona then you can update the timesheet or make corrections sitting in San Francisco as well as Barcelona. You will even have the luxury of pre-populating various tasks for time entry. You will also have the flexibility of entering time using offline timesheets in case internet is unavailable.
The second most important feature is the flexibility of managing various projects. You will have the necessary access for setting up multi-level projects as well as tasks with an estimated cost as well as a timeline. You can even assign different users for each of the projects and have the luxury of viewing real-time estimate every time a user enters their time. There is another feature or functionality that will enable you to compare time as well as the overall cost estimates and provide you with actual numbers through at-a-glance reporting.
The third important functionality is the capability of the time tracking software to manage billing. You will be able to base rates on various tasks, projects, resources, roles, clients, employees, attorneys, users, and even departments. You will be able to set a default user rate when you want to bill employee time against any of the projects completed by the employee or attorney. You can even set the billing rates in several or multiple currencies like USD, GBP, EURO etc.
The fourth important functionality of a timesheet and time tracking software is that it offers comprehensive reporting. Some of the other functions include:
• You will be able to take advantage of real-time visibility and this comes along with several standard as well as configurable reports
• You will be able to configure reports using a customized report writing tool
• You will be able to view several different reports in the formats you choose and this includes graphs and tables
• You can save all the reports or even share them after converting the reports into a PDF format file or even an Excel sheet
The bottom line is that a timesheet and time tracking software is a perfect tool for businesses and organizations who need to keep a tab on their projects, employees, and work.
