Thanks to all of you that participated in the beta program and provided your valuable feedback on the new report and invoice generation engine. We have incorporated your inputs into the product; however, there is a possibility that we missed a scenario during beta testing that may impact you negatively. If you have not looked at the new reports and invoices during the beta program, please take some time to login and view some of your draft and sent invoices. Although the process looks the same, we’ve done a considerable amount of work to fix many of the formatting and display issues that you may have experienced. Your invoices will now have a crisper and a more professional look. This new reporting system also provides us a much more robust platform to implement many of the enhancements you’ve requested.

Final Call on Beta for New Reporting Engine for Reports and Invoices

We are making final tweaks based on your feedback on the Beta for New Reporting Engine that for creates reports and Invoices. We plan to deploy the final beta in production on Saturday November 14th. For the users that have not yet tried the beta version, we request that you take this opportunity to try it out and let us know if you see any issues. Again, our goal is to catch all issues before we roll out the beta into production.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

1- Please click here to access the BETA version, ignore the browser warning. Please note that the data is the same as production data but the reports and invoices are running on a BETA server. There will be no difference in any of the numbers between the beta and production system.

2- Run the reports that you use and look for any undesired differences. Note that now you can obtain outputs in multiple formats: PDF, Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, HTML, Postscript, and CSV. Don’t forget to check CSV output if you use it.

3- View existing draft invoices and final invoices. Again, look for any undesired differences.

4- If you have the option, create new draft and final invoices. Note any undesired differences.

More Flexibility for LEDES (Legal Electronic Data Exchange Standard) Invoice Creation

When using LEDES billing, a unique Client ID is required on each invoice. To your customer receiving this invoice, that Client ID uniquely identifies your account. TimeSolv has always used the Client ID field from the Client/General tab to populate this field on the LEDES invoice.

Some of our customers have found themselves in a situation where they want to maintain multiple client records in TimeSolv for the same customer (for example, a law firm working with a large insurance company with multiple divisions). This posed a problem in LEDES in that each TimeSolv client created for the same customer was then sending a different Client ID.

We’ve now enhanced Timesolv to add an optional LEDES Client ID field on the Client/General tab. For those clients where you have LEDES billing enabled, you can now specify your own LEDES Client ID, which can be the same across multiple clients. If you don’t need this functionality, just leave the new LEDES Client ID field blank and we will continue to use the current Client ID field.

Improved Personal Project/Matter List Selection

TimeSolv has had a feature for timekeepers to create their favorite list of clients and projects/matters called the Personal Project/Matter List for entering time and expenses. The ability to create Personal Project/Matter is enabled by the administrator under Firm Settings by checking Allow Personal Matter List, see screenshot below.

Check the box in order to reduce the Number of Clients and Matters that appear in Time and Expense entry pulldown lists. Client and Matter names will be chosen from the latest Time and Expense entries. Uncheck the box to disable this feature and show all active Clients and Matters.

Once enabled, timekeepers can setup the personal projects/matters list by clicking on the link Setup Personal Project/Matter on time and expense entry screens.

The user interface for adding or removing projects/matters from the personal list has been improved to allow users to see all projects/matters on one screen. Now you will be able to select projects/matters by clicking on check boxes.

Benefit: Users will be able to more easily select/deselect favorite matters/projects for entering time and expenses. This feature will reduce time spent on entering time and expenses because the desired project/matter will be selected from a list of favorites.

· Improved Recurring Expense Entry

Recurring expense entry link will only be visible if an entry is entered as a recurring entry. Previously, if the recurring expense entry option was enabled, it showed recurrence option for all expense entries.

iPhone, Blackberry, and Windows Mobile Access - Beta Available Now

Great news for TimeSolv Plus, TimeSolv Legal, and TimeSolv & WorkSolv Users. Now you can enter time and expenses from web enabled mobile phones such as iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Mobile phones or any web enabled mobile phone. In addition, users will be able to view and edit prior time and expense entries, view the total amount worked, invoiced, and unpaid balance.

Access TimeSolv Mobile by entering http://m.timesolv.com in the browser of your mobile device. Mobile access is provided as a beta release, please report any issues right away.

This additional feature is offered at no additional charge .

New and Improved TimeSync with LEDES and WorkSolv - Beta Version

A completely redone TimeSync is available now, providing improved usability and support for LEDES and WorkSolv! As always, TimeSync allows you to enter time and expenses directly from your Windows desktop, even when disconnected from the Internet. If you'd like to participate in our beta test cycle, please follow the instructions below to install TimeSync.

Instructions to install:

  1. Important: If you are upgrading an existing version of TimeSync, please ensure you have Sync'd any existing entries before installing.

  2. Uninstall the current TimeSync by accessing the Control Panel, Add/Remove Software.

  3. Open up Windows Explorer, click on my computer, click on hard drive, click on Program Files, find TimeSync folder and delete it.

  4. Download TimeSync from http://timesolv.com/TimeSync800.zip

  5. Open the zip file (using utilities such as WINZIP) and run the included setup.exe.

  6. Setup will install the application in the directory you specify - you may want to leave the default settings

  7. Follow prompts on the screen to complete installation.

  8. After successful installation, you will have a ‘TimeSync' shortcut on your desktop.

  9. Start TimeSync by double-clicking on the TimeSync icon on the desktop. Alternatively, you can start TimeSync using Start>Programs>TimeSync

  10. Specify your TimeSolv username and password on the Admin tab.

  11. ‘Save' these settings.

  12. Click on the ‘Sync' tab and then on the ‘Sync' button to synchronize clients and projects from the live site

  13. Now, you are ready to use the new TimeSync software
