As requested by TimeSolv customers, Task Code for time entries can now be made a required field. The main benefit is that it will streamline billing process by requiring less effort by the billing person to correct missing tasks.
Benefits
Previously, timekeepers would forget to select a task code while entering their time causing multiple issues at the billing process.
1- Billing person had to ensure that all timekeepers had selected a task. To correct the entries that were missing tasks, the billing person had to either make an educated guess or contact the timekeeper to update the entry with the missing task. This was even more important for LEDES bills, because task is a required field for electronic billing.
2- Some customers use task based billing rates. If a time entry is missing a task, the billing rate would default to hourly rates.
3- This is even more important for customers charging tax for services. Tax is calculated based on selection of taxable tasks. If a timekeeper did not select a task, it would cause the time entry to not be taxed.
Firm setting to make tasks required for time entries
Under Administration, click on Firm Settings, check Require Task Code Selection on the right side and save.
